Reading your stats: win rate isn't the point.
Win rate, profit factor, average win and loss: what each one actually tells you, and which one to watch.
Win rate
The share of trades that closed green. On its own it means little: you can win 80% of trades and lose money if the losses are big enough.
Average win and average loss
The shape of your trading. If your average loss is bigger than your average win, you need a high win rate just to break even. Shrinking the average loss is usually the easiest fix.
Profit factor
Total won divided by total lost. Above 1 you make money; below 1 you don't. It's the single number that combines the other two.
Discipline score
Scrutin's score looks at behaviour, not luck: how you exit, how consistently you size, how much you trade on tilt, and your edge. It moves when the habits move, even before the PnL does.
The rule: Shrink the average loss before chasing a higher win rate.
About behaviour and process, not about what to buy. Nothing here is financial advice.
Next lessonTilt: when the trading trades you.
